Based on the research of a plate heat exchanger actually used in a company, this paper adds local protrusions and long protrusions to its reinforcement structure (dimple), respectively, designs two kinds of improved plates, and uses the performance evaluation criteria under equal pump power as an index to evaluate the heat transfer performance. The results show that the performance evaluation criteria of the two improved plates are 1.09 and 1.10, respectively, and they can achieve better heat transfer enhancement. The improved plate 2 with long protrusions can increase the heat transfer coefficient by 10.94% on the basis of almost unchanged pressure drop.
